Sunday 29th November 6:30pm - Brassed Off (15)

Films at Pittington

It's 1992 and Grimley Colliery is facing closure. The pit's brass band, led by Pete Postlethwaite's proud and ailing Danny, plays on through the uncertainty, chasing a place in the national finals at the Royal Albert Hall even as the community around it comes apart. Ewan McGregor and Tara Fitzgerald supply the romance, the band supplies the soaring music, and the whole thing lands somewhere between a comedy and a punch in the gut. A northern classic that still rings true thirty years on, and the "Danny Boy" scene is worth the ticket on its own.

Sunday 29th November – doors open 6pm, film starts 6:30 pm, end time 8:30pm approx.

We’ll have a record at the hall that evening of all tickets pre-purchased but please be ready to show any ticket notification email too.
